WITH SELECT SUPPLIERS TO OFFER OUR FOOD-INDUSTRY CLIENTS A 100% RECYCLABLE TUBULAR FILM
This processed plastic film is manufactured using a patented technology that allows it to replace standard, non-recyclable multilayer films. It consists of a co-extruded structure of two polyethylene layers with an intermediate additive that maintains long-lasting protective and antibacterial activity, inhibiting the formation of agents responsible for organoleptic deterioration within the package.
By using a single material—thereby avoiding nylon and polyesters – the product is 100% recyclable.
This product is particularly suitable for protein-rich foods such as cheeses and cured meats; specifically, trials involving mozzarella and soft cheeses demonstrated a one-week extension in shelf life—a significant benefit for companies involved in export.
Neither the additive used nor the ink (if the tubular film is printed) comes into contact with the packaged food.
TECHNOLOGY:
❑ This technology is based on a physical mechanism (ion exchange) and not a chemical one (no new chemical compound is generated inside the packaging).
❑ The selected molecules are all included in REGULATION (EU) No. 10/2011 relating to the list of substances authorized for food contact.
❑ Packaging is not classified as active or intelligent packaging but falls into the category of functional packaging (EC Reg. n. 450/2009 of 29 May 2009)
❑ The migration values of the substances used are, in all cases analyzed through migration tests conducted according to regulations, lower than the limit threshold permitted by the various regulations in the food sector (max 10 mg/m2).
